VII     COMMITTEE REPORTS

Memorial Day Patriotic Comm.  - Mr. Flynn thanked County Commissioner Tony O’Brien and veteran Kevin Sullivan for their attendance at the Memorial Day Parade.  Mr. Flynn announced the dedication of the Joseph William Wirth square scheduled for June 16th.  Mr. Flynn thanked Tom Constantine and Mr. Sheehan from Sheehan Trucking for the donation of mulch and labor.  The committee is seeking volunteers at 8:30 a.m. to help set up.   Mr. Soper thanked Mr. Flynn for a great parade.

Oldham Pond Committee – Mr. Flynn said that Don Howard has been a big asset to the committee.  Pembroke will be putting sulfite in the pond this week.  The pond will be closed on June 7 & 8 and will re-open on Saturday, June 9th.  The committee is trying to address the problem areas coming from Hanson.  Mr. Howard and Mr. Flynn were out on Sunday checking Arlene Street, Beckett Street and Brook Street.  The water is being filtered while flowing through the wetlands.  Mr. Howard pointed out that the Pembroke Country Club could lead to some of the issue. A second brook runs into Oldham Pond which will be sampled by the contractors.  The lawn chemicals from the residents are also a cause for the algae growth.  Mr. Egan asked if there was any recourse the communities can take to retain the run off.  Robert Brown indicated that Stormwater Management may address some of the issues at Arlene Street.

Plymouth County Advisory – Don Howard indicated that a quorum was reached last week and the Plymouth County Budget was approved for FY2013.
